RSE Academy’s First RoboQuest 2024 Launches into Full Swing
Bacolod City, June 27, 2024 – The Robotics and STEM Education (RSE) Academy, founded by the esteemed Dr. Cheryl Dublar, proudly held the inaugural RoboQuest 2024 at Ayala Malls Capitol Central, Bacolod City. The event, themed “Inspiring Young Minds of Negros,” marked a significant milestone for the academy, showcasing the talents of young robotics enthusiasts from across the region.
The Robotics and STEM Education (RSE) Academy, founded by the esteemed Dr. Cheryl Dublar, proudly held the inaugural RoboQuest 2024 at Ayala Malls Capitol Central, Bacolod City. The event, themed “Inspiring Young Minds of Negros,” marked a significant milestone for the academy, showcasing the talents of young robotics enthusiasts from across the region.
With sixteen participants across Levels 1 to 3, the robotics competition challenged students to create robots capable of completing obstacle courses tailored to their skill levels. In addition, twenty-four academy students participated in the culminating presentation activity, showcasing their projects and what they learned throughout the program.
Participants were given an hour to develop robots to tackle specific challenges:
- Level 1:Students coded robots to detect objects and turn accordingly.
- Level 2:Robots were programmed to follow a black trail and stop at designated points upon detecting specific colors.
- Level 3:Participants created robots that could follow a trail, detect obstacles, and navigate curves without losing their path.
The competition was fierce, but ultimately, the champions emerged:
1st Runner-up: Aaron Paul Guyo
2nd Runner-up: Uell Godrick Mabuyao & Aiden Cloud Alburo
3rd Runner-up: Jose Emmanuel Magbanua & Vince Nicholas Magbanua
4th Runner-up: Cris Steven Munar & Daneyelle James Peñaranda
1st Runner-up: Chryz Gabriel Ong & Xian Rhain Arsenio
2nd Runner-up: Berne Clarenz Pacheco

Mr. Gabriel Legislador from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region 6 attended the event and highlighted the importance of nurturing young minds in the field of robotics. He emphasized that skills in robotics are crucial for various real-life applications, from disaster relief to the development of prosthetics and accelerating work processes.
